What is Low Level Laser Therapy? Low Level Laser Therapy is perhaps the most significant non-surgical hair restoration technology available today. This emerging hair restorationtreatment is rapidly gaining acceptance as a safe, non-invasive treatment for men and women experiencing hair loss. LLLT is a light energy emitted from a laser diode that penetrates skin tissue while invigorating the scalp and living cells that deliver oxygen and nutrients to the hair follicle while reducing the harmful effects of dihydrotesterone (DHT.) The treatment produces no heat and, therefore, cannot harm. In fact, the FDA has classified the technology as a non-significant risk device (NSR) in accordance with laser product safety standards. Treatments are entirely painless and are performed in a private setting lasting approximately 15-20 minutes. The scientific term for the process is called “photobiostimulation” (PBS). The four (4) distinct effects of PBS are an increase in ATP (Adenosine Triphosphate) and protein synthesis, improved cell proliferation, and change in cell membrane permeability and increased blood circulation due to the dilation effect of the LLLT on capillaries. The treatment is very simple and appointments last approximately 15-20 minutes. Clients sit comfortable under a device that looks like a commercial hair dryer at a beauty salon. The treatment produces no heat and runs silently while you simply relax, listen to music, watch television or read.
